Cookie Policy

Last updated: 4 October 2026

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on buzzboost.co.uk, what each one does, and how you can control them.

Who is responsible for this website

This website is operated by BUZZBOOST DIGITAL LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15960977, whose registered office is 26 Northview Drive, Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, SS0 9NG. You can contact us about anything in this policy at support@buzzboost.co.uk.

What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage and tracking pixels, store or read information on your device in much the same way. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of them.

Some cookies are strictly necessary for a website to work or to provide something you have asked for. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations these do not need your consent. Since February 2026 the law has also allowed some analytics and display-preference cookies to be used without consent, provided visitors are told and can opt out. We do not rely on that exemption: every optional category on this website stays off until you switch it on.

Our approach

When you first visit, every optional category is switched off. You can reject all optional cookies, accept them all, or choose category by category, and the reject and accept choices are given equal prominence. Closing the cookie banner is not treated as consent: it keeps every optional category switched off. You can change your mind at any time using Cookie settings in the footer of every page.

Cookies this website sets

These are the cookies this site can set, checked on 26 September 2026. We update this table whenever a plugin, embed or tool is added or removed.

NameCategoryWhat it doesHow long it lasts
cmplz_banner-statusStrictly necessarySet by our cookie tool (Complianz). Records that you have answered or dismissed the cookie banner, so it is not shown again on every page.1 year
cmplz_functional, cmplz_statistics, cmplz_marketing, cmplz_preferencesStrictly necessarySet by our cookie tool. Each one stores “allow” or “deny” for one category, so the site can respect your choice on every page. cmplz_preferences is always “deny” because we do not use preference cookies.1 year
cmplz_policy_idStrictly necessarySet by our cookie tool. Records which version of our cookie settings your choice was made under, so we can ask again if they change.1 year
cmplz_consented_servicesStrictly necessarySet by our cookie tool for choices made service by service. We do not ask for choices per service, so it stays empty.1 year
bb_reviewsStrictly necessarySet only if you select “Allow and show reviews”. It records that choice so our Google reviews keep loading on later pages. It is removed when you select “Stop showing reviews”.1 year
wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*, wp-settings-*Strictly necessaryKeep a signed-in member of our team logged in to the website’s administration area. They are not set for visitors. The session, or up to 14 days if “remember me” is chosen; wp-settings up to 1 year
_gaStatistics (optional)Set by Google Analytics only after you switch the Statistics category on. Holds a random identifier so Google Analytics can tell whether a visit comes from a browser it has seen before. It contains no name, email address or other detail about you.2 years
_ga_JXS7841FQFStatistics (optional)Set by Google Analytics only after you switch the Statistics category on. Keeps count of the current visit (session) for that identifier.2 years
bb_campaignStatistics or Marketing (optional)Session storage in your browser, not a cookie. Kept only if Statistics or Marketing is switched on and you arrived through one of our campaign links. It remembers that link’s campaign labels (for example utm_source=meta), so an enquiry you send from another page still shows which campaign it came from. It holds no personal information.Until you close the tab
_gcl_auMarketing (optional)Set by Google Ads conversion measurement (loaded through Google Tag Manager) only after you switch the Marketing category on. Holds a random identifier so Google Ads can tell whether an enquiry followed a visit from one of our ads. It contains no name, email address or other detail about you.90 days
_gcl_awMarketing (optional)Set only if you have switched the Marketing category on and you reached this website by clicking one of our Google ads. Stores the click identifier that Google adds to the ad link, and when the click happened, so that a later enquiry can be credited to that ad.90 days
_fbpMarketing (optional)Set by the Meta pixel on our domain. A random identifier for your browser, so Meta can tell us whether someone who saw or clicked one of our Facebook or Instagram adverts went on to send an enquiry.90 days
_fbcMarketing (optional)Set by the Meta pixel only if you arrive from a Facebook or Instagram advert link. It stores the ad click identifier from that link.90 days
li_fat_idMarketing (optional)No longer set by this website: we removed the LinkedIn Insight Tag on 26 September 2026. It may remain in your browser from an earlier visit until it expires, and it is deleted if you switch Marketing off.30 days
Cookies on facebook.com, for example frMarketing (optional), set by MetaMeta may read or set its own cookies on facebook.com when the Meta pixel runs, especially if you use Facebook or Instagram in the same browser. They are controlled by Meta, not by us.Up to 90 days (set by Meta)
Cookies on linkedin.com, for example bcookie, lidc, li_sugr, UserMatchHistory, AnalyticsSyncHistoryMarketing (optional), set by LinkedInLinkedIn may read or set its own cookies on linkedin.com when the enquiry conversion request is sent. They are controlled by LinkedIn, not by us.Up to 1 year (set by LinkedIn)

Your choice is stored only in your own browser, in the strictly necessary cookies listed above. Our cookie tool does not keep a copy of your choice on our server. Until 26 September 2026 we used a different cookie tool, which kept a record of each choice on our server (the date, the choice made, the country the visit came from and your IP address). Those earlier records are kept for no longer than 12 months from when they were made and are then deleted. Choices made with that earlier tool are not carried over, so if you visited before 26 September 2026 we will ask you again.

Optional categories

The cookie settings offer two optional categories, Statistics and Marketing. Both stay off until you switch them on, and each can be switched on or off without the other. When you switch Statistics on, Google Analytics 4 (loaded through Google Tag Manager) records the pages you view, how you arrived at the site, the buttons and links you click, whether you completed an enquiry form (but never what you typed into it), and your device, browser and approximate location. It sets the two _ga cookies listed above. We use Google’s Consent Mode so that nothing is sent to Google Analytics until you switch Statistics on: no cookies, no anonymous “pings” and no page view. If you later switch Statistics off or select Reject optional, the _ga cookies are removed from your browser, the page reloads and nothing further is sent.

Marketing covers advertising measurement with three services: Google Ads, the Meta pixel (for Facebook and Instagram adverts) and LinkedIn’s conversion pixel. Each one tells us whether people who saw or clicked one of our adverts on that platform went on to send us an enquiry. None of them is used for remarketing or to build advertising audiences from visitors to this website. For Google Ads, when you switch Marketing on, Google Tag Manager loads Google’s conversion linker, which sets the _gcl cookies listed above, and when you complete an enquiry it sends Google Ads a single “enquiry completed” signal. That signal carries the ad click identifier and random identifier from those cookies, the page address, and technical details such as your IP address and browser. It never includes what you typed into the form, your name, email address or phone number. We have not switched on Google’s “enhanced conversions”, so no email address or phone number is sent to Google in any form, and we do not use remarketing or build advertising audiences from visitors to this website. We use Google’s Consent Mode here too: nothing is sent to Google Ads and no _gcl cookie is set until you switch Marketing on. If you later switch Marketing off or select Reject optional, the _gcl cookies are removed from your browser and nothing further is sent to Google Ads. Statistics and Marketing are independent, so you can allow one without the other.

While Marketing is on, your browser also contacts Google’s advertising services (google.com, googleadservices.com and doubleclick.net), and if you allow Statistics as well, Google Analytics may make a check-in request to doubleclick.net. Google may read or set its own cookies on those domains and uses the information as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. We do not use preference cookies. If we add a tool to either optional category, it will only run after you have switched that category on, and we will list it here before it goes live.

Meta pixel: when you switch Marketing on, your browser loads Meta’s pixel from connect.facebook.net and sends Meta (facebook.com) one page view for each page you open. When you complete an enquiry, it sends one “Lead” event. The pixel sets the _fbp cookie on our domain, and _fbc if you arrived from a Facebook or Instagram advert. These requests carry the page address, those cookie identifiers and technical details such as your IP address and browser. We have switched off Meta’s automatic event detection, automatic advanced matching and the Conversions API, so no form contents, name, email address or phone number are sent to Meta. For this measurement, BUZZBOOST DIGITAL LTD and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited are joint controllers. Meta explains its part in its Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy.

LinkedIn conversion pixel: we do not load the LinkedIn Insight Tag, so LinkedIn receives nothing while you browse this website, including no page views and no clicks. Only if you have switched Marketing on and you complete an enquiry does your browser send LinkedIn (px.ads.linkedin.com) one request saying that an enquiry was completed. That request carries our LinkedIn account and conversion identifiers, our website address, any cookies LinkedIn has already set in your browser on linkedin.com, and technical details such as your IP address and browser. LinkedIn uses it to report to us how many enquiries came from our adverts. We cannot see who you are. No form contents, name, email address or phone number are sent to LinkedIn. LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company decides for itself how it uses what it receives and explains this in its Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy; the terms between us and LinkedIn are set by LinkedIn’s advertising agreement.

Google, Meta and LinkedIn may process this information in the United States. Those transfers are covered by the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or by the UK’s International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, as described in each provider’s own terms.

Content loaded from other providers

Some pages show our Google reviews. Nothing is requested from Google or Trustindex until you select “Allow and show reviews” on the reviews card. Until you do, we show a short card in place of the reviews with a link to our Google listing, and no file is requested from either provider. If you select it, your browser then loads the review widget’s script and icons from Trustindex (cdn.trustindex.io) and the reviewers’ profile pictures from Google (lh3.googleusercontent.com). As with any file requested from another website, those providers receive your IP address and basic browser information so they can deliver the files. The review widget does not set cookies or write other data to your device for this website. We set one strictly necessary cookie, bb_reviews, to remember your choice for 12 months. To withdraw it, select “Stop showing reviews from Google and Trustindex” under the reviews, or clear your cookies. How those providers handle the information they receive is covered by their own privacy notices.

All fonts and other files on this website are served from our own server.

Links to other websites, such as our social media profiles and the Client Portal, take you to sites with their own cookie and privacy policies.

Changing your choices

Select Cookie settings in the footer of any page, or the Cookie settings tab at the bottom of the screen, to reopen your choices. You can switch Statistics or Marketing on or off, accept everything, or withdraw consent by selecting Reject optional. Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent: when you switch Statistics off, the Google Analytics cookies are removed from your browser; when you switch Marketing off, the Google Ads, Meta (_fbp, _fbc) and LinkedIn (li_fat_id) cookies on our domain are removed. The page then reloads and nothing further is sent. Cookies that Meta and LinkedIn keep on their own domains can be removed in your browser settings or managed in your Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn settings.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the site may not work. If you clear your cookies, we will ask for your choice again on your next visit.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy whenever the cookies or similar technologies on this website change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
